Dependent Coverage

The following individuals are eligible for coverage under the City Colleges health insurance plans:
Your legal spouse or Domestic Partner.
Unmarried children under the age of 25 (regardless of student status).
Physically or mentally handicapped children (regardless of age).

The term children includes:
Natural children
Step children
Legally adopted children
Children under your legal guardianship

The following individuals are not eligible for coverage under the City Colleges health insurance plans:
Your parents
A divorced spouse
A common law spouse
Children who are not under your legal guardianship.

You must provide certified documents to prove that spouses and dependent children are eligible for coverage such as:
Marriage Certificate
Birth Certificate
