Retirement Enhancement Application/Contract Package
The next phase of the salary enhancement program is underway. In the recent negotiations the Union and the Board agreed to extend the early retirement program which enables full-time Faculty, Training Specialists, and Professional employees in CCCTU, Local 1600 Faculty and Professional bargaining units to elect to retire and enhance their salary for up to two calendar years.
The application/contract form and procedures which were previously agreed to by CCCTU, Local 1600, A.F.T. and the Board, have been revised with the new dates for this opportunity. Employees may choose to retire in 2006 or 2007, and must give notice by May 1, 2005 to retire within two years. The salary enhancement plan gives eligible employees the ability to enhance their salary for two calendar years (either 2005 and 2006, or 2006 and 2007). Also note that the academic salary to be enhanced will consist of 30% of the balance from illness leave days accrued. The remaining days at the time of retirement will be paid as described in Article VII.J of the contract.
Please review this information carefully and discuss this important decision with your family members and financial planner. Once the Board approves the application/contract, the retirement election is irrevocable.
