The City Colleges of Chicago Office of the Inspector General is an independent department created by the City College Board. Its mission is to ensure integrity and accountability in the day to day operations of the City Colleges of Chicago.
Annual Residency Compliance
The Office of the Inspector General requires all full-time employees hired on or after July 1, 1977to complete an Annual Statement of Compliance Form to indicate that they reside within the City of Chicago. The City Colleges of Chicago residency requirement, Board Rule 3.7(a), is available in the Board Rules.
Completing the Annual Statement of Compliance is the annual audit portion of the residency requirement. Submit the form to the HR Administrator at your college.

Exceptions
Pursuant to Board Rule 3.7(a), the following employees are exempt from this annual requirement:
i. Military personnel employed at locations outside the City of Chicago
ii. Full-time employees who marry another full-time District employee hired prior to July 1, 1977 and who actually resides with that employee
iii. Full-time employees in janitorial, operating engineer and firemen classifications (Job families 811, 821, and 831) hired prior to January 1, 1980; and,
iv. Full-time employees of the Washburne Trade School who were transferred to City Colleges employment from the Chicago Board of Education in or about January 1984.
Complaints and Confidentiality
A complaint involving any area of jurisdiction of the Office of the Inspector General may be filed with the Inspector General. All communications with the Office of the Inspector General are confidential. Complaints may be made by:
