College Tech Prep

The College Tech Prep Program was developed to respond to the nation's growing need for skilled workers in high-tech, high wage occupations by sequencing the curriculum of high school students and college occupational programs.

What future does the College Tech prep Program give students? With the Tech Prep Program, your educational and career options are kept open. Tech Prep Program at the City Colleges of Chicago transfers completely to a baccalaureate program at a four-year college or university.

You will benefit by:

• Obtaining college credit for courses completed in high school
• A strong core of academics from which to move into a variety of career areas
• Cutting-edge technical expertise
• Exposure to high paying careers
• Opportunities to visit worksites, participate in internships and gain an inside look at the world of work

Requirements:

• Must have Individual Career Plan
• Must complete a sequence of courses that leads to a Tech Prep occupation
• Meet Academic Admissions Standards
• Must be referred by high school counselor
