Ability to Benefit (ATB) Test

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2012 (Public Law 112074), students who do not have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (such as a GED) or do not meet the home school requirements, and who first enroll in a program of study on or after July 1, 2012, will not be eligible to receive federal financial aid. Therefore subject to certain exceptions, effective July 1, 2012, the City Colleges of Chicago will no longer administer the Ability-to-Benefit test or provide students financial aid after they have successfully completed six college-level credit hours.
