​ESLINTG 99 Student Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:

  1. Compose unified, coherent paragraphs and expository essays.
  2. Identify main idea and support ideas in expository prose.
  3. Paraphrase and summarize reading selections
  4. Compose compound and complex sentences with generally correct grammar and appropriate vocabulary.
  5. Analyze and evaluate content, organization, and mechanics in their own writing and revise accordingly.

ESLINTG 100 SLOs

Students will be able to:

SLO #1: Create an argument and support it using examples and details from personal
 experience, general knowledge, and outside sources.

SLO #2: Summarize, analyze, and synthesize newspaper and magazine articles, as well as
  readings from college texts at the introductory level.

SLO #3: Communicate intended meaning with consistently accurate grammar, using academic  tone and vocabulary.

SLO #4: Analyze and evaluate content, organization, and mechanics in their own writing and  revise accordingly.

SLO #5: Compose papers on computers, adhering to standard academic format.
