Tuition Free English as a Second Language (ESL)

The tuition-free English as a Second Language courses (ESL) are designed to teach the English language and civics skills to non-native speakers. The course levels range from providing basic language and life skills for complete beginners to helping advanced students prepare for higher education, vocational training, or a career. Reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar are included at all levels of instruction.    

Classes Schedules: 

Morning, Evening, and Saturday Classes (16 weeks long)  

Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30 am-12:30 pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:30-10:30 am or 10:30 am-12:30 pm  
Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30-9:30 pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:30-7:30 pm or 7:30-9:30 pm
Saturday 9:00 am-1:00 pm

Intensive Classes (8 weeks long)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 12:30 pm-4:30 pm (Truman campus—16 hours/week)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9:00 am-1:00 pm (Lakeview —16 hours/week)

Off-campus Locations (8 weeks long 

Tuesday & Thursday 8:30 am-12:30 pm or 5:30-9:30 pm (Lakeview) 

Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30-12:30 or 5:30-9:30 pm (Other locations)​



Monday evening, 5:30-9:30 pm  
Saturday, 9:00 am-1:00 pm
