How Do Colleges & Universities Partner with CCC?

City Colleges of Chicago has partnerships and agreements with colleges and universities across the country. Below is a description of the different types of partnerships that City Colleges has created to help you transition to your dream school. Click on the links below to find out more about how these institutions partner with City Colleges of Chicago and apply to participate in a partnership with your dream school today!

Chicago Scholars Partner ( ​1 ) - Chicago Scholars is a non-profit organization that assists high school students in the application and interview processfor top colleges and universities across the country. During an onsite event, students are able to ​receive on the spot decisions of acceptance as well as the potential to receive a financial package to help them pay for their education

Compact Agreement Partner ( 2 ) - The Compact Agreement is an agreement between community colleges and 4-yr. insitutions in the state of Illinois. Students who complete the General Education Core Curriculum or the AA or AS degree will be granted junior standing or coinsidered having met the lower division general education requirements at a 4-year institution.​

​Special Partnerships ( 3 )​ - We have partnerships with colleges and universities across the country that provide opportunities specifically for CCC students!

​DePaul  DAPP ​DePaul Admission Partnership Program (DAPP). The goal of this program is to increase the number of City Colleges of Chicago students who transfer to DePaul and complete a baccalaureate degree.  Students have access to resources while still attending the City Colleges of Chicago.  Degree course requirements will be locked in.  Eligibility requirements include: students who have earned fewer than 30 credit hours at the City Colleges of Chicago.
  1. ​Degree Requirements locked in once student signs up. 
  2. Assigned a DPU advisor. 
  3. Invitations to DPU events. 
  4. Eligible for to apply for DAPP scholarships. 
  5. Must identify participation before 30 credits completed.

​DePaul Adult Bridge ​The Adult Bridge Program into DePaul's School For New Learning is designed for adults age 24 and older who, because of demands on their time and financial resources, find it difficult to pursue a traditional path to a degree.
  1. ​Professors teach at both DPU and CCC. 
  2. Students can take courses at DPU for CCC prices in bridge. 
  3. Assigned multiple advisors and mentors, using the DPU/SNL advising model. 
  4. Bridge students can reduce DPU  graduation requirements significantly by taking courses while in bridge program.  
  5. SNL is competency-based and gives students credit for their life experiences upon completing coursework.  VISIT TRANSFER CENTER FOR DETAILS.

​DePaul MAP 2+2 ​MAP grants will be awarded based upon the tuition of the four year institution where the student intends to transfer.
  1. Must be CCC student who is MAP eligible. 
  2. Must have earned less than 16 MAP paid hours.

Illinois Institute of Technology ​Presidential Scholarship and Educational Initiative for Community College Students - up to $23,500 plus housing and research awards; renewable

​Lewis-Aviation ​Students will complete an Associate's Degree from one of the seven City Colleges of Chicago and complete a Bachelor's Degree in Air Traffic Control Management, Aviation Administration or Aviation Security from Lewis University at De La Salle Institute in Chicago. All courses required for the degree programs will be offered in the evenings at De LaSalle Institute, 3434 S. Michigan Avenue.
  1. ​Must have CCC AA or AS or the equivalent of 39-45 hours of transferable credit towards the general education core courses from another regionally accredited college, including: 9 hours of English /Communications, 9 hours of Fine Art/Humanities, 9 hours of social sciences, 3-5 hours of math, and 6-10 hours of science.
  2. City College students should consult with an advisor regarding the IAI GECC.

NEIU MSTQE  

​The Middle School Teacher Quality Enhancement Partnership between CCC and Northeastern Illinois University.
  1. ​Students can transfer a maximum of 72 credits from the City Colleges toward completion of the 128 required credit hours for each degree. CCC students can register at CCC for NEIU courses.  Students pay CCC tuition and attend the classes at Northeastern Illinois University. Resurrection University RN-BSN Degree Completion Agreement​ ​​A student seeking to enroll in the RN-BSN Completion Program at Resurrection must first complete the CCC Nursing Program, the NCLEX-RN exam, and receipt of the Registered Nurse License for the State of Illinois, the student may then apply for admission to Resurrection University BSN Completion Program.
  • ​​Resurrection plans to admit 10-30 students into the program and Initial courses will be taught on the CCC campus. University requirements: 
  • Have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.00, a minimum science GPA of 2.75/4.00 (science GPA is calculated from Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry and Microbiology courses.)
  • Be in good academic standing at CCC.
  • Submit official transcripts from all other colleges & universities attended.
  • Submit a copy of their current Illinois RN license.
  • Submit a resume or curriculum vitae.

​Guaranteed Admission Transfer (GAT) Program  

   

**APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR STUDENTS WHO WILL BE AT UIC in FALL 2014 is OCTOBER 1, 2013. Type out your application and bring it to the Transfer Center at your college  

   

For students who plan on Transferring to UIC in Fall 2015 or Fall 2016, feel free to apply in the Transfer Center at your college.

  1. Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA for College of Engineering, Business, Education, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. 
  2. Maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA for College of Health Sciences to study Nutrition and a 2.5 GPA to study Online Health Informatics.
  3. Maintain a 2.75 GPA for College of Public Health to study Public Health.  
  4. Please note that majors such as Nursing and Kinesiology are highly competitive and do not participate in this Guaranteed Admission Program.
  5. CCC will help recruit students and supply applications to UIC for yearly cohort of 210 guaranteed spots reserved for CCC GAT students.
  6. Enroll full-time at the City Colleges of Chicago before entering in the Fall at UIC.

​To apply you must have the required cumulative GPA on the basis of all transferable work attempted is recommended. Transcripts should illustrate a minimum of 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of transferable college classroom credit at the time of application. College and departmental requirements vary.

​Online RN-BSN Completion.  Students who graduate from CCC with an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) are guaranteed admission to UIC after completing pre requisite courses and passing the NCLEX. ​UIC MMSI ​Joint NSF Grant with UIC to recruit Male Minorities to Science programs at UIC under the same admission requirements as UIC-GAT.
  1. ​Assist participating students to graduate from CCC with a GPA (at least a 3.2) and offer experiences which  make them competitive candidates for graduate programs.
  2. Create a sustainable support structure that will allow CCC and UIC to institutionalize underrepresented minority male transfer student success in Science disciplines
  3. Offer stipends for summer research and orientation programs at UIC. 
  4. Students must be studying Science or Math at UIC. 
  5. Due to the fact that this is grant funded, underrepresented males can only apply. This includes students who identify as Black, Hispanic, Native American Indian or Southeast Asian.   VISIT TRANSFER CENTER FOR DETAILS.
