Active duty and personnel who have been separated from active duty, selected reserves, and state militia may be eligible.
Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
VEAP provides education and training opportunities to eligible persons who contributed to the program while on active duty.
Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (DEA)
The DEA program offers up to 45 months of education benefits. Spouses and children of veterans who were disabled or died of a service-related condition may be eligible.
Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits
Veterans who have had a service-related disability may be eligible.
State of Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG)
This program pays tuition and certain fees for either undergraduate or graduate study at any Illinois public college, university or community college. Recipients may use this grant for the equivalent of four academic years of full-time enrollment.

Honorably discharged veteran with at least one year of full-time active duty (or served in foreign hostilities).
Completed initial active duty commitment.
Resident of Illinois within six months before entering the service and within six months after separation.
Enrolled at an Illinois public college.
Not be in default on any student loan, nor owe a refund on any state or federal grant
Maintain an acceptable GPA.

Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant
Members of the Illinois National Guard may be eligible to receive the Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant. This grant can pay for tuition and certain fees for undergraduate or graduate study at Illinois public colleges, universities and community colleges. The grant can be used for a maximum of the equivalent of eight semesters or 12 quarters.

Active Illinois National Guard with at least one full year of service.
Enlisted or officer up to the rank of captain.
Enrolled at an Illinois public college.
Not be in default on any student loan, nor owe a refund on any state or federal grant.
Maintain an acceptable GPA.

MIA-POW Benefits
This scholarship may be used at public colleges in Illinois, and is administered by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dependents of a person who was an Illinois resident at the time he or she entered active duty and has been declared to be a prisoner of war, missing in action, dead as a result of a service-connected disability, or disabled with a 100 percent disability as the result of a service-connected cause as recognized by the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs or the U.S. Department of Defense, may be eligible to receive the MIA/POW Scholarship.

| Eligible dependents are entitled to full payment of tuition and certain fees to any state supported Illinois institution of higher learning consisting of the equivalent of four (4) calendar years of full-time enrollment. |
