WCUI's You and Me This Morning: Tuition Savings Tips from City Colleges

2/5/2014 12:00 AM

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month, so City Colleges Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Student Services Cynthia Grunden stopped by WCUI's "You & Me This Morning" show to offer a quiz and some tips on avoiding debt.

ANCHOR: Cynthia Grunden from City Colleges of Chicago stopped by our studios recently to give us a lesson on college tuition. And she also told us about an amazing tool called the Tuition Calculator, take a listen.

GRUNDEN: Many students, when they’re planning to go to college, see that four-year college, and they want to get that degree from that four-year college. What we want to help students understand is that they can save a significant amount of money if they start at a community college first. So what we have is a tool on our website.

You would just go to ccc.edu, click on our Tuition Calculator, answer a couple of simple questions, and you can say the school you want to go to within that state, and we’re going to help you project out what you could save by starting out with us for the first two years.
