According to the Illinois Public Community College Act of 1965, students (who are Chicago residents) may attend a community college outside of District 508 and without incurring additional out-of-district fees via a chargeback initiative between City Colleges of Chicago and other community colleges in Illinois.
To apply for a chargeback from City Colleges of Chicago, please download and complete the CCC Chargeback Application Packet. Inside, students will find the Chargeback Checklist, Chargeback Guidelines, and Chargeback Application. The application can be completed electronically in a PDF-friendly program, or by hand and then scanned as an electronic copy. Students should save the application with their last name, first initial, and the date as the file name. All documents in the packet are integral to completing the chargeback application properly and on time, and can also be found individually in the sidebar to the right.
Students must submit their completed application and all required documentation (see Chargeback Guidelines for specifics) to firstname.lastname@example.org
before the deadline or the application will not be accepted. No exceptions. The Fall 2016 application submission period closed on Friday, July 29, 2016.
The submission period for Spring 2017 applications will open on Monday, November 7, 2016, and run until Friday, December 9, 2016. A downloadable PDF of the Spring 2017 chargeback application packet will be made available on Monday, November 7, 2016.
Please allow three to four weeks for your chargeback application to be processed and reviewed. Contact Carmen Garth in the office of Strategy and Academic Governance at (312) 553-2671 or email@example.com with any questions or concerns. Students who have not received a status update on their chargeback application at least two weeks before the start of the semester should email firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
