Tuition Waivers

Tuition Waivers

Senior Citizens

Senior citizens (age 65 or older) may register in credit courses tuition-free if they meet certain income and residency requirements. Tuition-free registration is available each term beginning on the Monday of the week prior to the week classes begin, subject to available space in courses. Seniors may register at any other time during the registration cycle, but will not qualify for the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver. Seniors are responsible for paying all applicable fees and must make payment arrangements for any non-covered tuition and fees at the time of registration. In order to receive a Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver, seniors must submit a signed copy of the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver Application and documentation of age and income to the Business Office at the time of registration.

Public Aid Recipients

Public aid recipients may be eligible for a tuition waiver of up to six credit hours if their public aid number does not start with a “9” and they are not eligible for financial aid. Please contact the Business Office for additional information.

Full-Time CCC Employees

Full-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago and their dependents may register for classes tuition-free consistent with applicable collective bargaining contract provisions for covered employees.

All students must pay the non-refundable $30.00 registration charge.
