International Student Services

The International Student Services office at Harry S Truman College provides general support services, academic advising, and assistance with the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), formerly known as Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS).                        

• Maintaining your F-1 visa / updating or replacing your Form I-20

CCC Accepts Three Types of International Students

• Apply as a new international student from your home country
• Apply as a transfer international student
• Apply as a new international student requiring a change of visa status

Mandatory Medical Insurance Requirements

The Board of Trustees of the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) and the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA) require that international students and dependents maintain health insurance during their course of study. Failure to obtain such insurance or willful violation of this insurance requirement will be considered a violation of status.                        

Foreign Credentials Evaluation

Educational credentials — such as transcripts, diplomas, or certificates — earned at the secondary or post-secondary levels outside of the United States must be evaluated by our international transcript evaluation partner, Educational Perspectives.​​
