Get Information on the Minority and Women Business Enterprise Plan
City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) adopted a Minority and Women Business Enterprise Plan (The "Plan") to ensure that Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE) have opportunities to participate on CCC contracts for commodities, professional services, technology and construction. The Plan includes goals for participation of certified MBE and WBE firms of:
MBE Participation goal: 25%
WBE Participation goal: 7%
Bidders/Proposers are required specify the percentage of the total contract that will be performed by certified MBE and WBE firms. To be considered a “MBE or WBE”, the firm is 51% or more owned or controlled by a minority or a woman. A “Certified” business means any business or individual which has been certified by any of the following CCC approved certifying agencies:
-
CHICAGO MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
-
CITY OF CHICAGO
-
COOK COUNTY
-
STATE OF ILLINOIS
- WOMEN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER
A copy of a MBE/WBE firm’s current letter of certification from an approved certifying agency must be submitted with the bid/proposal. All letters of certification must include the MBE/WBE firm’s area of specialty. The certified MBE/WBE firm’s scope of work must conform to their area of specialty. During the performance of the contract, the Contractor submits quarterly documentation attesting to current payments to MBE/WBE firms and the cumulative dollar amount of payments made to date.
