Basic Certificate: Applied Cannabis Studies
The Basic Certificate (BC) in Applied Cannabis Studies purpose is to prepare individuals for a range of entry into the cannabis industry, from entry to mid-level employment opportunities. Individuals will gain hands-on experience with a solid scientific foundation for understanding plant science and the uniqueness of the Cannabaceae family. Upon completion, individuals will gain training in professionalism specific to the cannabis industry and will be prepared to enter the industry immediately as a budtender, plant propagation manager, retail, or the various ancillary businesses of the industry. Individuals will also have the opportunity to continue their educational pursuits into the Advanced Certificate in Cannabis Processing Technician and the Associates of Applied Science in Cannabis Studies.

The Cannabis Dispensary Operations Certificate prepares students to work in a licensed cannabis dispensary and introduces students to the basics of legally dispensing cannabis in a licensed setting. Students will gain an understanding of the legal environment of dispensary operations in alignment with state and federal laws that regulate cannabis distribution to clients. Students will acquire skills to interact with and educate cannabis clients in a regulated environment, as well as obtain the foundational knowledge to pursue additional careers in the cannabis industry.

The Advanced Certificate (AC) in Cannabis Processing Technician purpose is to permit individuals to continue in the Cannabis Studies pathway by pursuing the advanced certificate that allows them to gain an understanding of the scientific and processing components of the industry, including the cultivation and the social implications of the cannabis industry from a historical, structural and advocacy lens. Individuals will be prepared to advance in the cannabis industry from an equitable perspective. In addition, processing and extraction techniques are taught in this certificate and can lead towards careers in cultivation facilities or labs.
