President’s Statement

From the President of KKC

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Kennedy-King College, I am pleased to outline the College’s assurance argument process in preparation for the Higher Learning Commission’s team visit to our campus in 2019. This process is a continuation of the collective work faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders embarked upon in 2014, leading to a successful reaffirmation of accreditation in 2016. As an institution on HLC’s Standard Pathway, we are preparing to undergo a year four comprehensive evaluation and site visit on October 21-22, 2019.

In the spirit of continuous improvement and utilizing the criteria outlined by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Kennedy-King College’s assurance argument process provides our College the opportunity to review past challenges and accomplishments and to identify improvements that will support the mission and work of Kennedy-King College in the years ahead. The goals and objectives of both our College and the District continue to support the mission of Kennedy-King College by ensuring student success in the classroom and in the workplace while we continue to provide access to all seeking a transformational personal, professional, and academic experience.

I invite you to take part in our assurance argument process by reaching out to our Criterion Team Chairs and by participating in any of the college led forums and information sessions that will resume in the fall semester of 2018. Broad input from campus constituents and from the public is critical to our campus’s continued success.

Sincerely,
Gregory Thomas, Ph.D.
President, Kennedy-King College
