Nephrology - Admission

Applying for Admission

New students are accepted into Nephrology/Renal Technologist program during the spring semester of each year. The program begins in the fall semester. The application period is from the first week of February to third week of June. Early applications are preferable.  The application plus other admission materials must be packaged together and mailed or delivered to the program office (room 3415).  Incomplete applications will not be processed for admission into the program.

The following requirements must be met for admission:

Submit a complete application, two letters of recommendation and personal statement to the Nephrology Renal Technology Program.

  1. Students 18 years of age or older and grades of “C” or better in English 101 with an overall Grade Point Average of 2.0 or better on a 4.0  scale. 
  2. A personal statement stating why you chose the Nephrology Renal Dialysis Program at Malcolm X College.
  3. Application Fee $20 non refundable payable to Malcolm X College Nephrology Renal Technology Program by certified check/money order
  4. Two typed letters of recommendation from either:
    • Instructors
    • Employers
    • Clergymen or Pastor 

The Nephrology Renal Program faculty and staff will review your application and offer you an interview if your credentials and personal statement match the program’s requirements.
