About the College
Since 1976, Truman College has been a vibrant and vital part of Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, delivering high-quality, innovative, affordable and accessible educational opportunities and services.
At Harry S Truman College, we believe that the path to success begins with an education - whether a student’s goal is to move immediately into the workforce or transfer to a four-year college, our faculty, staff and administration work to provide students with the support and tools necessary to succeed.
CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION, HUMAN & NATURAL SCIENCES
As City Colleges of Chicago’s Center of Excellence in education, human and natural sciences, students have the opportunity to become the best teachers by learning from the best teachers. Truman College offers a combination of certificates and associate degrees in those fields tailored for those first entering the education profession as well as for professionals in need of continuing education.
SUPPORTING THE TRANSITION TO COLLEGE
In addition to college credit classes, Truman College offers free English as a Second Language and HiSET/GED programs.
TRUMAN MIDDLE COLLEGE
Aspiring to empower students to become successful college and career-ready individuals, Truman Middle College (TMC) resides in the heart of Harry S Truman College. Open to 17 to 21 year old students who dropped out of high school but wish to earn a high school diploma, TMC is an alternative high school served under the Truant’s Alternative and Operational Education Program (TAOEP) and dedicated to students’ individual success and accountability.
