The mission of Chicago Legal Clinic is to identify the legal needs and provide community-based quality services and education to the underserved and disadvantaged in the Chicago area, thereby promoting justice through greater access to the legal system.

The Chicago Legal Clinic at Harold Washington College is an eleemosynary organization that provides community-based legal services and education to the underserved and disadvantaged at no cost. The clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys that provide a plethora of legal services on a variety of issues including, but not limited to:  

  • Domestic Violence
  • Orders of Protection
  • Immigration
  • Divorce
  • Child Custody
  • Child Support
  • Eviction
  • Foreclosure
  • Criminal Law
  • Contracts
  • Employment Discrimination
  • Personal Injury
  • Intellectual Property
  • Probate
  • Guardianship

To this date, more than 1,500 students, administrators, faculty and staff have received free legal assistance. ​​​
