Mission Program Goals and Student Learning Outcomes

Mission Statement

The mission of Malcolm X College’s Surgical
Technology Program is to provide accessible training and health-focused
education that fosters personal and professional achievement.

This program trains students for allied
health positions as well-prepared candidates who promote patient safety and
demonstrate the personal and professional empowerment necessary for success.

Our goal is to prepare competent entry-level
surgical technologists in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and
affective (behavior) learning domains.

We are dedicated to providing comprehensive
curricula, supportive services, and to promoting cultural and global awareness
in an inclusive learning environment.
