Website update procedures

Web Page Updates

Each program and department maintains a web page linked to the Malcolm X College home page. To request a new web page open a help desk ticket by visiting ccc.edu/help. Existing Web pages should be reviewed for accuracy no less than once per semester but can be updated at any time.
 

 

Follow these steps to request an update.   
  • Copy and paste the page URL  to Word
  • Copy and paste the center page content to Word
  • Copy and paste the right column content to Word
  • Highlight deletions in RED
  • Type and highlight additions in GREEN
  • Email to cohelpdesk@ccc.edu
  • Once the update is complete, you will receive an email confirmation and a request to proof the update.

SharePoint

Sharepoint is a private and secure replica of the public Web page. Each department and program has a private Sharepoint page. These pages support file libraries, calendars, discussion boards and much more. It is used for group communication and file storage.  

 

Although Sharepoint is secure, by default everyone can see all content. At your request, access to document libraries can be restricted to users of your choosing. Consider scheduling a periodic review of your user permissions.   

Office 365 Groups

365 Groups is a pre-designed version of SharePoint. Groups support email, file system, discussion boards and much more.
