ISLO Plan

Introduction

The Richard J. Daley College 2022–2027 Program Assessment Plan implements a seven-step institutional assessment cycle to evaluate and improve student learning outcomes. This plan aligns with Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs) and incorporates stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.

7-Step Institutional Assessment Cycle

  • Step 1: Research and Design – Determine data needs, assessment instruments, and analysis methods.
  • Step 2: Pilot Assessment Instrument – Conduct pilot tests for reliability and validity.
  • Step 3: Administer Assessment Instrument – Select courses and administer assessments.
  • Step 4: Data Analysis – Analyze data to assess student learning outcomes.
  • Step 5: Results and Recommendations – Share results with stakeholders and propose changes.
  • Step 6: Modifications – Implement feasible recommendations and address limitations.
  • Step 7: Improvement Plan – Develop strategies for enhancing learning outcomes in future cycles.

Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs)

ISLO Description
ISLO1 Communication: Students will effectively communicate ideas in oral, written, and digital formats.
ISLO2 Critical Thinking: Students will apply reasoning to analyze and solve problems.
ISLO3 Ethics: Students will make decisions based on ethical reasoning.
ISLO4 Global Awareness: Students will evaluate global issues from multidisciplinary perspectives.
ISLO5 Quantitative Reasoning: Students will analyze and solve problems using numerical methods.
ISLO6 Technology Literacy: Students will utilize technology to achieve academic and personal goals.
