Supervision Philosophy of the Site:
Supervision is an important time for personal and professional growth. Interns receive 1 hour of individual and 2 hours of group supervision per week. Group supervision is collaborative and didactic in that it allows for interns to learn about specific theories and interventions. Group supervision allows time for training, case consultations and sharing of knowledge from multiple levels and perspectives.
Tia utilizes a strengths-based and interpersonal approach, which helps clients utilize internal strengths and resources to build resilience. She understands the importance of relationship building and developing nurturing relationships in client growth. Her training style mirrors this with a focus on promoting both professional and personal growth.
Chastity takes an interpersonal approach to therapy as she plays an active and intentional role in creating a safe and trusting environment, serving as a secure base and providing reparative relational experiences. This environment is the foundation upon which she builds to provide culturally responsive evidence-based interventions. As a supervisor, she hopes to provide trainees with the skills to create a sense of preparedness and confidence as they enter into clinical practice.

Clinical Case Manager
Jovan Rivera-Lovato, MA, LSW, Clinical Case Manager (They/them/their) was born and raised in Chyenne, Arapahoe, and Ute homelands (currently occupied by the state of Colorado). I found the urgency for investigating social problems while working in sexual violence prevention education in high school. Jovan pursued Bachelor’s degrees from Colorado State University in Women’s Studies and Ethnic Studies. During that time, Jovan was taught the tools used in Women of Color feminisms and developed a political commitment to decolonization. Since moving to Chicago in 2019, Jovan has worked in various roles and began to experience the ways mental health and community care struggle to address oppression at interpersonal and structural levels. Jovan pursued Master’s degrees from DePaul in Women’s and Gender Studies and Social Work to help address this problem. I’m extremely excited to be working with the Wellness Center team at Olive-Harvey and hope to build community with folks on and off campus.
