Institutional Review Board

Jonathan Keiser, PhD

Executive Director of Academic Development

The City Colleges of Chicago Institutional Review Board is required by federal law to review all proposals for research by CCC faculty and students that involve human participants.

The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is a learning-centered institution focused on undergraduate and workforce development programs as well as adult basic education. To ensure that the personal safety and integrity of the CCC students, faculty and staff is protected when they participate as research subjects, the City Colleges of Chicago Institutional Review Board (CCC IRB) is required by federal law to review all proposals for research done by CCC faculty and students that involve human participants.

CCC is interested in promoting and supporting research activities among CCC faculty and staff which support the attainment of doctoral degrees, grants, and the development of specialized knowledge which, in the long term, will benefit the institution and CCC students.

City Colleges of Chicago students seeking to conduct research must identify a CCC faculty member who is willing to serve as the principal investigator that has expertise in the specified area of research.

Research proposals are subject to review and approval by the Provost, Deputy Provost, and the CCC IRB according to CCC policies.
