Interprofessional Simulation & Virtual Hospital

The simulation technology helps allow students to practice and perfect skills, tasks and communication in a safe environment.
Health Sciences and Nursing programs have access to a state-of-the-art Simulated Hospital Interprofessional Education & Learning Department located on the 8th floor. Through interactive learning and assessment students may increase their clinical knowledge and skills through active, hands-on clinical scenarios.

20,000-square-foot virtual hospital environment includes labs, classroom space, and healthcare environments that represent inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Using simulation, students have the opportunity to practice and experience critical scenarios safely and without the risk of harm to patients. Adult learning theory mixed with simulation technology enhances critical thinking, builds confidence and allows for guided reflection and evaluation of best practices outside of the clinical environment.

The Malcolm X College Simulated Hospital Interprofessional Education & Learning Department opened in January 2016.
