Combined Cohort: The total of Traditional AAS Nursing Degree Cohort and the LPN Bridge Cohort.
LPN Bridge Cohort: Licensed Practical Nurses returning to complete an AAS Nursing Degree. Students have successfully completed Nursing 140 when they enroll in the second year of the AAS Nursing Degree Program.
Traditional AAS Nursing Degree Cohort: Students entering the program in Nursing 101. An Associates in Applied Science (AAS) Nursing Degree is conferred upon graduation.

LPN Bridge Cohort – Glossary of Terms
Enrollment: The number of students that successfully completed Nursing 140 and enrolled in the second year of the AAS Degree program in the Fall semester of the fiscal year.
Enrollment Cohort: Students that enrolled in the program in the Fall semester are designated as the enrollment cohort for that fiscal year. There is one enrollment cohort for this program per fiscal year.
Retention: The percent of the enrollment cohortᵻ that were retained to the subsequent Spring semester of the program.
Completion: The percent of the enrollment cohortᵻ that completed the degree within the 150% timeframe (three semesters not including summer) of the program.
Graduates: Students that completed the program and were conferred a degree.
Exam Pass Rate: The percent of graduates who passed the licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) out of those who took the exam for the first time in a calendar year.
Job Placement Rate: The percent of graduate survey respondents that are employed as a registered nurse (RNs) within the first twelve months after program completion.
Job Placement Data Source: Job placement data is collected by Malcolm X College’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness through a Fiscal Year Graduate and Certificate Completer Survey for all career and technical education (CTE) programs. This survey is administered through Qualtrics, between 12 or 18 months post-completion.
