Degree or Enrollment Verification

How to request a degree/certificate or enrollment verification.
​Enrollment verification requests are granted for the current academic year. Typical requestors for the verification document are medical/automobile insurance companies, child care providers, etc. Requests take 3 – 5 days to process (longer during peak periods), and there is no charge for this service. Please refer to the Registrar’s Office contact list below for specific-college information.

Class Attendance Verification Requests

The City Colleges of Chicago is a non-attendance taking institution. Accordingly, the Registrar’s Office is unable to furnish verification of class attendance. Students seeking verification of class attendance should consult with their course instructor. 

The Registrar’s Office can furnish verification of student enrollment. While student enrollment verification letters do not provide certification of class attendance, they do provide verification of the following information: 

  • Student’s name
  • Student’s ID number
  • Student’s Social Security number (last 4 digits only)
  • Student’s academic plan of study
  • Student’s current semester of enrollment
  • Student’s current cumulative number of enrolled credit hours
  • Student’s enrollment status
  • Certificates or degrees earned and dates conferred

Enrollment verification letters issued by the Registrar’s Office will contain the school seal or stamp and will be issued to students in a sealed envelope. Enrollment verification letters can be issued directly to the student or a third party at the student’s request with signed consent. Please contact your Registrar’s Office should you have questions or to request an enrollment verification letter.
