If you have not previously been a CCC student, you will need to submit a general CCC application in addition to the special nursing application. A.A.S. Nursing Program
City Colleges degree program – Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Nursing
Registered Nurses are key members of a patient’s care team. Their job is to assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records, among other duties. City Colleges’ RN associate degree program provides the skills to launch a career in this in-demand field – which offers more than 1,800 job openings annually and pays more than $35 hourly (average starting salary: $50,667). The program requires a total of 69 credit hours over four semesters. Through classroom instruction and outside clinical experiences, the program prepares students to take the licensure examination for Registered Professional Nurses (RN), a requirement for RN employment.
Practical Nursing (PN)
City Colleges degree program – Advanced Certificate in Practical Nursing
Practical Nurses care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients or persons with disabilities in a variety of healthcare settings, and may work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. City Colleges’ Advanced Certificate program in Practical Nursing provides students with a basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice and prepares graduates for the NCLEX-PN Exam, which is required to become Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Practical Nurses can expect a starting salary, on average, of $32,957. Graduates of the program may transfer their credits to an associate or bachelor degree nursing program.
