The Diesel Technology program equips students with the skills necessary foundation and practical experience to pursue entry-level positions that meet the changing demands of the automotive industry.
ASSOCIATE PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Olive-Harvey College’s Diesel Technology Program consists of a Basic Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Associate Degree Programs. Eligibility for English 101 and Math 90 or 98 are required. High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic Certificate – 6 Courses (20 credit hours): DIESEL 111, 113, 112, 114, 115 and 1 General Education Course
- Advanced Certificate – 16 Courses (50 credit hours) : All DIESEL Courses and 3 General Education Courses
- Associates in Applied Science – 25 Courses (70 credit hours): All DIESEL Courses and 8 General Education Courses
CAREER POSSIBILITIES:
Associate Program: Diesel Mechanic, Service Mechanic, Truck Mechanic
Certificate Programs: Diesel Service Technician, Diesel Service Mechanic, Truck Mechanic
CLASS SCHEDULES:
Meeting times vary, Monday through Saturday
TUITION:
- $146 per credit hour
- Payment methods include self-pay, Workforce Investment Opportunities Act (WIOA) and Chicago Housing Authority or Illinois Veterans Grant
- Students can us PELL, MAP or Stafford Loans as means to satisfy tuition payment
- Financial Aid eligible
