Art, Humanities, Music, and World Languages
The Department of Art, Humanities and World Languages includes the following areas: Studio Art, Fine Arts, Humanities, Music, Philosophy, Religion, Communications Media, Spanish and French.
The Truman College Automotive Technology Program is a Master ASE Education Foundation Certified program. Prior to 2018, ASE Education Foundation was known as NATEF (National Automotive Technician Education Foundation).
Oversees the day-to-day operations related to Campus Building Management and Operations in an effort to provide an efficient, safe and well-maintained environment for students, faculty, staff and the general public.
Our mission dedicates us to deliver high quality, innovative, media rich and up-to-date education through spawning a sense of civic responsibility that prepares students in the life sciences for the currently changing local and global economies.
The Business and CIS department prepares future participants to compete in the ever changing and trending business and technology industries by crafting foundational skills that are transferable and applicable.
Business Services is responsible for protecting the assets of the college by ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to while maintaining the financial integrity of the college.
Child Development Laboratory School
The City Colleges of Chicago operates Child Development Laboratory Schools at five of the colleges, allowing students to take classes knowing their children are well cared for.
The College Success course will acclimate students to college, while aiming to develop student success skills in three areas: Academic skills, Career Exploration, and Campus Support.
Continuing Education non-credit courses are available for students seeking occupational skills or personal enrichment.
The Cosmetology & Barbering Department is dedicated to preparing a diverse student body for licensure exam, career entry, advancement, and life-long learning in an increasingly interdependent global society.

The Diversity & Inclusion Committee has sponsored and supported training activities and events to raise awareness of issues related to cultural sensitivity.

Education & Human Development and Family Studies
The Education & Human Development and Family Studies Department houses the Child Development, Education, & Human Development and Family Studies certificate and degree programs.
English, Communication, Theater, and Journalism
The English, Communication, Theater, and Journalism Department offers courses in composition, creative writing, developmental English, ESL, journalism, linguistics, literature, speech, and theater.

The Office of Information Technology provides high quality, cost-effective technology-based services to facilitate the College mission as it applies to the management of business operations, teaching, learning, and community service.

International Student Services
International Student Advisors at Truman College support all of the educational needs and immigration requirements of international students. The first step for international students is to apply to City Colleges of Chicago.
Truman journalism classes provide a good springboard for a variety of careers that value critical investigation and research, effective communication, and good writing.

The Ray Cosgrove Library supports the curriculum and mission of Harry S Truman College. The library provides students, faculty, and staff with multiple resources to support study, research, and lifelong learning.
The Mathematics Department offers a variety of mathematics courses appropriate for students with diverse entry-level skills and academic or career goals.
The Office of Instruction cultivates a culture of learning by ensuring a curriculum of academic integrity, empowering faculty in their instruction and scholarship, and encouraging student growth, independence, and success.
Online Learning courses offer a method for students to complete college course work through online education.
Physical Science and Engineering
The Department of Physical Science includes Astronomy, Computer Aided Drawing (CAD), Chemistry, Engineering, Physical Science and Physics.
Plant Maintenance provides support services for the purpose of maintaining a well functioning and safe facility.
The Office of the Registrar administers the enrollment of students, maintains student records, and works with faculty, administration and staff on academic matters.
Campus Safety and Security is available 24 hours a day to ensure a safe and secure environment for all City College students, staff members, and visitors.
Service Learning integrates community service with academic instruction as it focuses on critical, reflective thinking, and civic responsibility.
The Social & Behavioral Science Department includes the disciplines of Anthropology, College Success, Criminal Justice, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Sciences, and Sociology.
The Department of Communication offers students the opportunity to improve their speaking skills by taking Speech 101, a course required for both the general Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree.
Student Government Association
The Student Government Association represents all students and serves as a liaison between the student body and college administration and the Board of Trustees.
The Student Services Department provides a broad range of services to assist students in achieving their academic and life goals.
The Science Center at Truman College
The Science Center is a virtual and physical study space designed to help students thrive academically in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and other Sciences. Drop on by to receive science help throughout the day with or without appointments.
The Truman Math Center & CIS Lab at Truman College
The Truman College Math Center & CIS Lab help students succeed academically in all things related to mathematics, CIS, and business.
The Writing and Reading Center
The Writing and Reading Center supports all Truman students with their reading and writing needs, including English and French language learning and CCC Read-to-Write placement test preparation.
Our Transfer Resources Center helps students create a plan for a seamless transition to 4-year institutions. Watch City Colleges transfer students Taylor and Bogdan discuss their love of student life and study at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Transitional Bilingual Learning Community (TBLC)
The TBLC is a two-semester, college credit program offered to students who, because of limited skills in English and limited financial resources, would otherwise not be attending college on a full-time basis.
TRiO’s mission is to provide support services to its students and ensure a smooth transition to four-year institutions.
Truman’s TRUly Caring is the college’s effort to encourage student academic persistence through individualized care. This effort uses text messages, emails, and outreach to provide timely and relevant help throughout the semester and academic year.

The Senate is the principal governance advisory organization representing the Truman College Community.
The Truman College Transition supports upper-level Adult Education, Career Bridge, and Gateway students to facilitate preparation and admission to credit coursework, link students to relevant services, and help them fulfill career goals.
The Veterans Service Center assists active duty members, veterans, and family members in transitioning into higher education. We connect students to campus and community resources and support and advocate for our military-affiliated community.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federal program which provides training for people who are out of work, who need training to change career paths or whose skills need improving in order to obtain a new job.
