Access Center Services

Our colleges provide a variety of services to assist students with disabilities. Check with the Access Center at your college for specific services. To begin the process of receiving accommodations, please log onto to your student portal at my.ccc.edu​ and click on the ACCESS Center tab.

  • Enrollment assistance
  • Financial Aid application assistance
  • Classroom accommodations​
  • Extended time for testing and in-class assignments
  • Note takers
  • Exam proctors
  • Readers
  • Transcribers
  • Sign language interpreters
  • TTY (text telephone) or TDD (telecommunication device for the deaf)
  • Recording devices
  • Adaptive software
  • FM system
  • Screen-reading (JAWS, zoom-text)
  • Information and referral to campus and outside agencies
Once documentation is on file and it is determined that a student is eligible for accommodations, the student should:       
  • Keep a copy of his/her disability documentation
  • Give their accommodation letters to their professors
  • Meet with instructors during their office hours to discuss specific accommodation needs
  • Inform the DAC of changes to his/her schedule, including withdrawing from class
Documentation and student files will be maintained confidentially for five years after the student’s last semester using Access Center services.      
      

Evacuations & Emergencies

Students with disabilities who need assistance exiting the building in the event of an evacuation should connect with the AC office to make sure their class schedule is on the AC Evacuation list.       
Locations of students with disabilities are kept in the Security Office so the Fire Department can locate and assist students during an evacuation.
