The Healthy Market at Harold Washington College: Addressing food insecurity and hunger on our campus and in our community. In partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository and ECMC.

The Arlethia G. Mayes Healthy Market is located on the Lower Level at Harold Washington College and serves to address food insecurity affecting students, staff, and faculty of the College. The Healthy Market offers fresh and shelf-stable food items for free to members of our college community.

We provide resource assistance for food and more.  You may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can purchase healthy food and move toward self-sufficiency. During the COVID-19 pandemic, you can avoid a trip to the public aid office by calling the Benefits Hotline at 773-843-5416 or visiting the Illinois Application for Benefits Eligibility (ABE) to apply online.

You can also contact the Wellness Center for additional information and support. Email hwc-wellnesscenter@ccc.edu for more information.
