What Is Common Text? 

Common Text is a college-wide initiative that allows instructors to embed concepts, create assignments, and instill learning around a common theme.

Did you know Chicago wastes over 55 million pounds of food each month?        
​Throughout 2017-2018, Wright College will explore how we can reduce food waste. We’ll have library materials, teaching resources, activities, and special guests throughout the year.

September 19, 2017 8:00am – 10:50am in S-247  

In conjunction with the Pulitzer Center, Wilbur Wright College welcomes Sean Gallagher, a British environmental photojournalist, videographer and multimedia producer whose work focuses on highlighting environmental issues and crises, with a specific emphasis on developing nations in Asia including China, India and Indonesia.  

  

Sean will discuss his background and development as a photojournalist as well as his work “Toxic Development: Pollution in India.”  

 

Sean will deliver two guest lectures on September 19th at 8:00 am and 9:30am in S-247. Seating is still available for the 9:30am lecture. Contact Gabe Estill at jestill@ccc.edu to RSVP. ​

Environment, Economy, and Equity: The Three Pillars of Sustainability          
Stephenie Presseller, Sustainability Manager at Moraine Valley Community College, will discuss how these components can work in tandem to make our world a better place. She will share tips on how to green your campus, create a more sustainably-minded life, and help others do the same.
