What to Expect
It’s important to know that we will be glad you came to see us and that we will not judge you or your situation. We simply want to provide you resources, help in problem solving, and give you the opportunity to discuss your challenges in a comfortable setting.
Your first meeting with a Wellness Center counselor is very simple. We’ll ask what motivated you to come to the Wellness Center and what we can do to assist you. In many instances, we’ll be able to direct you to resources and provide referrals on the spot. If at the end of you meeting, you and your intern counselor believe that additional meetings would be helpful, you and your counselor will work out a meeting schedule.
Confidentiality
Upon your first visit, if you meet with a counselor, you will be asked for basic contact information. This information is kept confidential, except in certain circumstances where a person’s safety is at risk. Confidentiality is very important to us and to you, and the Wellness Center staff can explain to you your rights of confidentiality.
