Recycling Data

City Colleges of Chicago is committed to recycling our
refuse in an efficient and effective manner.

Towards this goal, we have recently expanded our efforts to include
plastic bottles, glass bottles, and aluminum cans in addition to the cardboard
and paper we have been recycling.
  This
combined recycling effort is called “Single Stream” Recycling.
Our District Wide recycling rate for Q12013
was 13.7%, which is calculated by the Total Recycled/ (Total Recycled + Total
Landfill).
  Each person at the City
Colleges (employees + students) contributed approximately 8.5 lbs. of trash and
1.5 lbs. of recycling.
