Salary Enhancement
The Compensation Design and Strategy Department is responsible for managing the Cook County College Teachers Union, Local 1600, Retiree Salary Enhancement Program.
Eligible employees may elect to enhance their salary by having thirty-percent (30%) of the amount of unused accumulated sick days paid out in advance of retirement. The enhancement is a lump sum payment which will be paid to participating employees in the second pay period of December, May and/or June depending on date of retirement. Eligible employees must give notice of their retirement by completing the Retiree Salary Enhancement Contract and submitting it to the Compensation and Classification Department. Union members should refer to the collective bargaining agreement for more details.
